Lift each tab slightly on the shingles as you install them and apply a 1 2 5 cm diameter spot of shingle cement under each tab.
Dab beads of roofing cement purchased from a home improvement store onto each shingle.

Wind can also cause roof shingles to lift up.
Begin removing the first row of nails by sliding the pry bar under the shingle immediately above the damaged one and gently lifting it to free it from the sealer strip.
